    In opera, Wingate’s recent plans include the role debut as Magda de Civry in Puccini’s La Rondine at Volksoper Wien under Tobias Wögerer, Wellgunde in Wagner’s Das Rheingold in a new Tobias Kratzer production at the Bayerische Staatsoper with Vladimir Jurowski and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin with Bühnen Bern. Other notable appearances include her house and role debut as the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta at Bühnen Bern under the baton of Nicholas Carter, her Staatsoper Hamburg debut as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen and her English National Opera debut as Mrs. Naidoo in Philip Glass’s Satyagraha (Carolyn Kuan), Mimi in Puccini’s La bohème at the Nederlandse Reisopera, and as the Governess in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at Garsington Opera (Mark Wigglesworth).



    Wingate has received wide acclaim for her portrayals of Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, with notable debuts at Malmö Opera, Oper Frankfurt, Komische Oper Berlin, and at the Edinburgh International Festival in Kirill Serebrennikov’s acclaimed production.



    On the concert platform, Wingate’s plans have included her debut at the Wiener Musikverein in Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with the Tonkünstler Orchestra conducted by Yutaka Sado, her debut with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester in Barber’s ‘Knoxville: Summer of 1915’ cond. Nicholas Carter, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater at Canterbury and Southwark Cathedrals, Verdi’s Requiem with the London Mozart Players, Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis Pacem at the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe Oviedo and Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.



    Wingate has appeared in recital and concerts at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Lincoln Center, Barbican Centre, Wigmore Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Holywell Music Room Oxford, and Aldeburgh Festival.



    She is an alumna of the Opera Studio at Dutch National Opera, where roles included Anna in Verdi’s Nabucco and Luisa Casati Stampa di Soncino in the world premiere of Willem Jeths’s Ritratto, which was named BBC Music Magazine’s Opera Choice for February 2021. In 2021, Wingate was selected for the Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project, where she performed the role of Die Schleppträgerin in Krzysztof Warlikowski’s production of Elektra conducted by Franz Welser-Möst. That same year, Wingate won second prize at the prestigious Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.
